Pro:Just used these while hiking in the Eagle CapWilderness Area (Oregon). At 7400 feet, evenings get chilly. I actually wore these and a ultralight down jacket in my. 40 degree bag.Very comfortable.Con:Expensive, and waist (medium) should have more stretch. These puffy pants are outstanding. The design really impresses me. The cut of them is prefect for a mid layer. They are fitted but not too tight. They are articulated around the crotch and butt perfectly. The way they do not bunch or sag is amazing. They move with you perfectly. The baffles are tightly spaced and fully stuffed. There will be no sagging of the down over time. The materials and construction are top notch, and I don't say that lightly. They are light, warm, and comfortable. The pockets are attached inside so they don't bunch or get pulled out. The elastic waist is comfortable and holds itself up, and there is a drawstring in case you really want to strap them down. Overall I'm blown away by these puffy pants. The only issue I have that isn't a flaw is that the elastic waist band feels a little tight for me in my size (I wear 36 waist, ordered a L) . It is actually true to size and does fit, but I prefer a looser feel so I'm going to try the next size up. That not withstanding though, these are darn near prefect mid layer puffy pants at a great price, and I'll probably try other Mountain Hardware gear in the future.Just got it and went out in the cold and snow flurries to give it a shot, and yes was quite warm to sweating. Now keep in mind this is not normal wear around outside gear, but more so lounging around the camp or wearing under a weather proof outer garment, or layered in a cold weather sleeping bag.Snow flurries yes it could handle, but it is not by any means waterproof, nor would I wear it in rain or snow. Its surface is not delicate but I could see easily puncturing it with brush or such. That aside it is quite warm and good quality. Weight considered it is about as warm as possible for this type weight.Others more versitile able to be called water resistant and more suitable for bush waking, weigh far more or double this weight. But keep in mind it will not work as a outer garment typically out on the trails. There were two big problems with these pants. The fly had two zipper pulls installed. You pull the first one down and the fly unzips and the second one is now stuck at the waistband and won’t go down. I was able to fix this but getting some diagonal cutters and breaking the second zipper pull. The drawstring was also sewn into the waistband so you couldn’t cinch the drawstring on one side. Luckily the fit is such that I don’t really need the drawstring. On the positive side, they are super light and even though I haven’t worn them below 40 degrees yet they seem extremely warm.I don’t have time to return and buy something else as I am taking them on a trip this weekend, but these are supposed to be quality name brand items. What I received would be poor even for a noname discount item.At first I was resistant due to the cost but after having owned them for a few weeks they are worth it. Very light weight but very warm and also combat the cold winds. I wear them while walking the dog every day when the temperature is 40 or below. I would highly recommend these pants as they are so light it’s like having nothing on at all but they keep your legs very warm. I even wear them around the house when I come back in for a while.Nice light warm pants. Could totally use a vent zipperLoved them! Bought a pair for my husband and I.For the price for the pants you don’t get much , very thin and not much fill , not recommendedIncredibly warm and compressible. More features than in comparable pants from Rab.Snug fit in lower leg. Big calves may require an upgrade in size. High zip in legs helps with fit.Super light and amazingly warm for the weight!
